The respondents answered a series of questions related to health behaviors and health risks, such as: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>chronic pain<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>body mass index<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>blood pressure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>diabetes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>asthma<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>other illnesses&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With a series of questions related to certain productivity barriers at work, the research was also able to measure a total presenteeism score. Using multiple comparisons with health behaviors like smoking, unhealthy diet, and lack of exercise yielded results with a higher likelihood of presenteeism among those with poor health habits as mentioned.  Some key statistics included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Smokers have a 28% higher rate of presenteeism than non-smokers. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Those who don\u2019t eat healthy were at a 66% higher rate compared to those who follow a good diet. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employees who rarely exercised showed a 50% higher presenteeism rate than those who regularly exercised as part of their routine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The study also showed that <strong>poor health behaviors eventually result in chronic diseases and health risks.<\/strong> The higher the health risks, the greater the likelihood of exhibiting high presenteeism.
