I attribute their level of engagement first and foremost to their internal wellness team,\u201d says WellSteps guide Michelle Jarvis. \u201cThey have two main wellness coordinators that are the driving force and are highly engaged. They also have recruited wellness champions for each division and hold quarterly wellness meetings. Communication is crucial for participation, and Lorain County Public Health\u2019s wellness coordinators ensure all employees are kept up to date.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe keep pushing wellness. It\u2019s not one of these things we just expect employees to do on their own,\u201d Stephanie says. \u201cWe highlight activities in our monthly newsletter. [And] We have wellness champions from each department who work directly with their team to promote wellness. We hold staff meetings to coordinate challenges. I think our wellness reps have done a really nice job of going back to each department, showing they care and want feedback. Our departments are different enough that what a team in administrative services might need is different than what a team in population health might need.
